Week of March 29-April 2!

Another week to keep learning together! I am so excited and I can’t believe it is already April. I will cherish these last two months learning as a class!

Monday:
*Reminder, tutoring until 4:30 PM!*
With one week until our writing FSA, we will focus very heavily on writing essays this week! We will discuss the writing process and reflect on the essays we have written. We will practice iReady in Reading to warm up our brains for the day. In Social Studies, we will learn all about the project we are going to be working on this week. We will spend time on iReady in Math before working with simplifying fractions. In Science, we will read about the circulatory system and answer questions!
Homework: Read 20 minutes and log it.

Tuesday:
We will start the day getting our topic for the next informative essay. We will read to gather information as a class then begin to plan out our essay using outlines. We will begin writing and get as far as we can in the time we have to write. In Social Studies, we will continue to work on our project. In Math, we will have one more day to practice with simplifying fractions. In Science, we will begin to discuss different organs and their functions focusing on the skeleton, skin, and muscles.
Homework: Read 20 minutes and log it.

Wednesday:
*Reminder- Early Release at 1:30!*
In the morning, we will practice iReady Reading before continuing to write our informative essays. We will pace ourselves to finish our writing today so that we can discuss and reflect on the process. In Math, we will spend time practicing our iReady Math lessons. After, we will learn how to change an improper fraction to a mixed number. When we come back from P.E., we will end the day in Health discussing our goals.
Homework: Read 20 minutes and log it.

Thursday:

Today, we will practice “on the spot” essay writing. When we come in, we will get our passages and our prompt. We will start to plan out independently and immediately start to write our essay. We will spend the whole morning composing and turn in our essays. In Social Studies, we will get project work time and check in with how far along we are in our projects. In Math, we will spend time practicing converting mixed numbers and improper fractions. We will end the day with Science where we continue to read about the skeleton, muscles, and skin. We will also talk about the quiz we will have Friday in Science about the respiratory system, circulatory system, and skin, muscles and the skeleton.

Friday:
*Science Quiz Today*
In the morning, we will practice again “on the spot essay writing. When we come in, we will get our passages and our prompt. We will start to plan out independently and immediately start to write our essay. We will spend the whole morning composing and turn in our essays. We will read some “Tiger Rising” as a reward for the hard work we did all week. In Social Studies, we will watch Episode 5 of Liberty Kids. In Math, we will review both simplifying and converting fractions and mixed numbers. We will end the day taking a short Science quiz.
