Week of January 19-21!

Monday: NO SCHOOL! Enjoy the extra day to stay home and relax.

Tuesday!

Let’s start the week off right! We will spend reading workshop getting iReady minutes before previewing our reading for the week. We will be focusing on Historical Fiction and hear a short story of historical fiction read aloud. We will hear the topic for our persuasive essay and come up with our claim. In Social Studies, we will start to explore the French and Indian War. In Math, we will be practicing division all week to prepare for Friday’s chapter test. In Science, we will do some activities on energy to also review and prepare for Friday’s test.

Homework: Read 20 minutes and Math worksheet.

Wednesday!

Wednesday, we will get right to work in reading and spend the morning reading our weekly story. We will talk all about the different story elements as well as the plot as we read. In Math, we will continue to practice division and get some iReady time. Some of us will work with a partner, some of us will work with Ms. Zaremski. In Health, we will continue exploring how our emotions make us who we are.

**Reminder, tutoring until 4:30 PM!**

We will spend Thursday’s reading workshop talking about our weekly story, “The Scarlet Stockings Spy”. We will determine the themes and make inferences using what we read and what we know. We will keep it up and writing our persuasive essay. In Social Studies, we will continue to read and talk about the French and Indian War. In Math, we will do a division escape room to prepare for tomorrow’s test. In Science, we will play a Kahoot to prepare for tomorrow’s test.

Homework: Study for Math and Science tests.

**Math test and Science test**

In Reading workshop, we will wrap up the week by talking about our reading. We will make some progress on our persuasive essay before getting time to listen to our class read aloud, “A Bridge to Terabithia”. In Social Studies, we will do some activities that will teach us more about we learned all week. Both Math and Science time will be spent taking our tests so we can move on to exciting new topics next week! I am excited to see the progress we have been making in all of our subjects.
